Our analysis looked at 14 schools in Ohio to see which associate degree programs offered the best educational experiences for teaching students. Factors related to overall quality of the school, post-graduation earnings, average student debt, and more accumulated were considered when coming up with this list.

Our 2023 rankings named Sinclair Community College the best school in Ohio for teaching students working on their associate degree.
Full-time students from Ohio pay an average of $4,329 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Sinclair Community College. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $8,076. On average, associate degree students take out $16,728 in loans while pursuing their degree.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Best Teaching Associate Degree Schools in Ohio list.
In-state students pay an average of $5,040 in tuition and fees if they attend Cincinnati State full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $9,090. On average, associate degree students take out $19,224 in loans while pursuing their degree.

With a ranking of #9, Kent State University at Salem did quite well on this year’s best schools for teaching students working on their associate degree.

Stark State College ranked #10 on this year’s Best Teaching Associate Degree Schools in Ohio list.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Stark State College is $4,310. Out-of-state students pay an average of $7,406. Associate Degree recipients from Stark State College accumulate an average of $21,837 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.

Kent State University at Tuscarawas ranked #11 on this year’s Best Teaching Associate Degree Schools in Ohio list.

University of Akron Main Campus landed the #12 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best associate degree teaching programs.
The average tuition and fees at University of Akron Main Campus is $11,880. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. Associate Degree recipients from University of Akron Main Campus accumulate an average of $24,147 in student debt by the time they complete their degree.
University of Akron Main Campus does offer online classes for certain degree levels. In fact, around 94% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
University of Rio Grande did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for teaching students to get an associate degree. It came in at #13 on the list.
University of Rio Grande does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $20,060. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. On average, associate degree students take out $26,443 in loans while pursuing their degree.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online classes at University of Rio Grande. During the 2019-2020 year, about 23% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Ohio Christian University came in at #14 in this year’s edition of the Best Teaching Associate Degree Schools in Ohio ranking.
If you don’t receive financial aid, you can expect a bill for $14,395 to cover tuition and fees at OCU. The school does not offer an in-state discount. By the time they get their associate degree, students from this school have racked up an average of $27,951 in student loans.
Online courses are available at OCU, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. During the 2019-2020 year, about 67% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
