This report analyzed 47 schools in the Southeast Region to see which ones offered the best basic certificate programs for teaching students. The factors used to develop this ranking include those related to how in-demand the school us, the overall quality of the school, and post-graduation wages, and more.

Our analysis found Stanly Community College to be the best school for teaching students who want to pursue a basic certificate in the Southeast Region .
Students from North Carolina who attend Stanly Technical College full time pay an average of $2,794 in tuition and fees. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $9,245.

The excellent basic certificate programs at Central Piedmont Community College helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the best teaching schools in the Southeast Region .
Full-time students from North Carolina pay an average of $2,792 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Central Piedmont Community College. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $8,936.
You may have the opportunity to take online classes at Central Piedmont Community College. Of all the undergraduates enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 100% took at least some of their classes online.
A rank of #4 on this year’s list means University of Georgia is a great place for teaching students working on their basic certificate.

University of Kentucky landed the #10 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best basic certificate teaching programs.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at UK is $12,610. Out-of-state students pay an average of $31,608.

Haywood Community College came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Best Teaching Basic Certificate Schools in the Southeast Region ranking.
Students from North Carolina who attend Haywood Community College full time pay an average of $2,580 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $8,724.

Athens State University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for teaching students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #18 on the list.
Students from Alabama who attend Athens State University full time pay an average of $9,060 in tuition and fees. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $15,810.

Florida Atlantic University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for teaching students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #19 on the list.
Full-time students from Florida pay an average of $4,879 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend FAU. Out-of-state students pay an average of $17,324.
One thing to take note of is that FAU does offer online classes in some areas. In fact, around 99% of the undergraduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
Southeastern Louisiana University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for teaching students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #20 on the list.
Full-time students from Louisiana pay an average of $8,289 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Southeastern. Out-of-state students pay an average of $20,767.
Southeastern does have options available for those who want to take online classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 40% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
Fayetteville Technical Community College landed the #21 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best basic certificate teaching programs.
In-state students pay an average of $2,544 in tuition and fees if they attend FTCC full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $8,688.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since FTCC does offer online classes for certain majors. During the 2019-2020 year, about 95% of the undergraduates at the school took at least one online course.
Vance-Granville Community College came in at #22 in this year’s edition of the Best Teaching Basic Certificate Schools in the Southeast Region ranking.
In-state students pay an average of $1,944 in tuition and fees if they attend Vance-Granville Community College full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $6,552.

Columbus State University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for teaching students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #23 on the list.

Guilford Technical Community College came in at #24 in this year’s edition of the Best Teaching Basic Certificate Schools in the Southeast Region ranking.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Guilford Technical Community College is $2,289. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $7,665.

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College ranked #25 on this year’s Best Teaching Basic Certificate Schools in the Southeast Region list.
In-state students pay an average of $2,626 in tuition and fees if they attend Rowan-Cabarrus Community College full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $8,770.
