Alternatively, you may choose a trade school that prepares you to enter the workforce with knowledge in a specific field.

To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Teaching Degree Search has created its Most Popular General Education Bachelor's Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region ranking. This report analyzed 68 schools in the Great Lakes Region to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for teaching students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the General Education program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for education majors pursuing a bachelor's degree.

Our analysis found Grand Valley State University to be the most popular school for general education students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the Great Lakes Region . GVSU is a fairly large public school located in the suburb of Allendale.

Women make up 77% of the education majors at the school.

Education majors at GVSU take out an average of $28,223 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. Assuming that a graduate chooses a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly loan payment is $298.

Out of the 68 schools in the Great Lakes Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee landed the # 2 spot on the list. UWM is a fairly large public school located in the city of Milwaukee.

Women make up 84% of the education majors at the school.

After completing their Bachelor's Degree, education graduates from UWM carry an average student debt load of $30,999. For students who choose a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly student loan payment is $189.
