Our analysis found University of West Alabama to be the most popular school for teaching students who want to pursue a graduate certificate in Alabama. Located in Livingston, Alabama, the medium-sized public school awarded 186 diplomas to qualifed graduate certificate students in 2020-2021.
Around 89% of those degree recipients were women.
Some students may be able to take online graduate classes at University of West Alabama. In fact, around 96% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
The excellent graduate certificate programs at Auburn University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular teaching schools in Alabama. This large public school is located in Auburn, Alabama, and it awarded 85 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.

University of Alabama at Birmingham is a large public school located in Birmingham, Alabama that handed out 76 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.

UAB does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 58% of graduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Auburn University at Montgomery is a great place for teaching students working on their graduate certificate. AUM is a medium-sized public school situated in Montgomery, Alabama. It awarded 44 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
Around 66% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since AUM does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 77% took at least some of their classes online.
University of North Alabama did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for teaching students to get a graduate certificate. It came in at #6 on the list. UNA is a medium-sized public school situated in Florence, Alabama. It awarded 34 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.

Samford is a private not-for-profit institution located in Birmingham, Alabama. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 7 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.

University of South Alabama came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Teaching Graduate Certificate Schools in Alabama ranking. This fairly large public school is located in Mobile, Alabama, and it awarded 5 graduate certificates in 2020-2021.
