To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Teacher Education Subject Specific program at each school on the list.

Our analysis found Northern Arizona University to be the most popular school for teacher education subject specific students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the Southwest Region . Located in the small city of Flagstaff, NAU is a public college with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 69% of the subject specific ed majors at the school.

On average, subject specific ed graduates from NAU take out $23,133 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. This translates to an average monthly loan payment of $227, based on a 10-year repayment plan.

The in-demand bachelor’s degree programs at University of New Mexico - Main Campus helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular teacher education subject specific schools in the Southwest Region . UNM is a very large public school located in the large city of Albuquerque.

Of the 116 students majoring in subject specific ed at UNM, 35% are male and 65% are female.

On average, subject specific ed graduates from UNM take out $20,650 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree.

Baylor is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the midsize city of Waco.

Women make up 67% of the subject specific ed majors at the school.

Subject Specific Ed majors at Baylor take out an average of $24,563 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $509.
