Our 2023 rankings named Montana State University the most popular school in Montana for teaching students working on their bachelor’s degree. MSU Bozeman is located in Bozeman, Montana and has a fairly large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 150 bachelor’s degrees to qualified students.
In-state students pay an average of $7,528 in tuition and fees if they attend MSU Bozeman full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $28,264. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $25,569 in loans while pursuing their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 78% were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at MSU Bozeman. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 96% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means The University of Montana - Western is a great place for teaching students working on their bachelor’s degree. Montana Western is a public institution located in Dillon, Montana. The school has a small population, and it awarded 92 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from Montana pay an average of $5,726 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Montana Western. Out-of-state students pay an average of $17,190. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from Montana Western accumulate an average of $24,828 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Of those students who received their degree, 88% were women.

University of Providence landed the #7 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular bachelor’s degree teaching programs. University of Providence is a private not-for-profit institution located in Great Falls, Montana. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 13 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees at University of Providence is $26,662. In-state students do not receive a discount, however you may be able to reduce your price if you receive financial aid. On average, bachelor’s degree students take out $21,640 in loans while pursuing their degree. Around 69% of those degree recipients were women.
If you are interested in distance education, University of Providence is an excellent choice, since the school is online.
Salish Kootenai College ranked #8 on this year’s Most Popular Teaching Bachelor’s Degree Schools in Montana list. Located in Pablo, Montana, the very small public school handed out 12 bachelor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
In-state students pay an average of $6,399 in tuition and fees if they attend SKC full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $11,583. Bachelor’s Degree recipients from SKC accumulate an average of $21,219 in student debt by the time they complete their degree. Around 67% of those degree recipients were women.
Some students may be able to take online classes at SKC. In 2019-2020 about 77% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
With a ranking of #9, Rocky Mountain College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for teaching students working on their bachelor’s degree. Billings, Montana is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelor’s degrees to 11 students in 2020-2021.
Rocky does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $31,335. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. Of those students who received their degree, 55% were women.
Rocky does offer online classes for certain degree levels. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 21% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
Stone Child College landed the #10 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular bachelor’s degree teaching programs. SCC is a very small public school situated in Box Elder, Montana. It awarded 7 bachelor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
If you want to attend SCC, expect to pay an average of $2,645 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Of those students who received their degree, 57% were women.
