This report analyzed 57 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region to see which ones were the most popular basic certificate programs for teaching students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Seminar L’moros Bais Yaakov the most popular school in the Middle Atlantic Region for teaching students working on their basic certificate. Brooklyn, New York is the setting for this very small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out basic certificates to 209 students in 2020-2021.
If you want to attend Seminar L’moros Bais Yaakov, expect to pay an average of $10,000 in tuition and fees. Of course, this could be reduced if you receive financial aid. Around 100% of those degree recipients were women.
The excellent basic certificate programs at Ohel Margulia Seminary helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular teaching schools in the Middle Atlantic Region . Ohel Margulia Seminary is a private not-for-profit institution located in Monsey, New York. The school has a very small population, and it awarded 185 basic certificates in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 100% were women.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Bnos Zion of Bobov Seminary. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Most Popular Teaching Basic Certificate Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. Anne Arundel Community College did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for teaching students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #7 on the list. This fairly large public school is located in Arnold, Maryland, and it awarded 32 basic certificates in 2020-2021.
In-state students pay an average of $8,900 in tuition and fees if they attend AACC full time. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $13,550. Of those students who received their degree, 75% were women.

Northampton County Area Community College landed the #8 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular basic certificate teaching programs. Northampton Community College is a medium-sized public school situated in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It awarded 28 basic certificates in 2020-2021.
The average in-state tuition and fees for students at Northampton Community College is $10,350. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $15,270. Around 68% of those degree recipients were women.

County College of Morris ranked #9 on this year’s Most Popular Teaching Basic Certificate Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. RMU does not offer a discount to in-state students, so the average tuition and fees for all undergraduates is $32,770. This amount may be reduced if you receive financial aid. Around 100% of those degree recipients were women.
RMU does offer online classes for certain degree levels. In 2019-2020 about 88% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
With a ranking of #13, Westmoreland County Community College did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for teaching students working on their basic certificate. Youngwood, Pennsylvania is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The public school handed out basic certificates to 10 students in 2020-2021.
Full-time students from Pennsylvania pay an average of $10,024 in tuition and fees if they choose to attend Westmoreland College. Those students who come from outside the state pay an average of $14,014. Around 100% of those degree recipients were women.

In-state students pay an average of $17,378 in tuition and fees if they attend Temple full time. If you are from out of state, expect to pay an average of $30,602. Of those students who received their degree, 90% were women.
One thing to take note of is that Temple does offer online classes in some areas. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 99% of undergraduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
Delaware Technical Community College - Terry did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for teaching students to get a basic certificate. It came in at #15 on the list. Located in Dover, Delaware, the fairly large public school handed out 9 basic certificate awards in 2020-2021.
In-state students pay an average of $4,945 in tuition and fees if they attend Delaware Tech full time. Out-of-state students pay an average of $11,808. Of those students who received their degree, 67% were women.
One thing to take note of is that Delaware Tech does offer online classes in some areas. In 2019-2020 about 93% of the undergraduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
Monroe College came in at #16 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Teaching Basic Certificate Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. Located in Bronx, New York, the medium-sized private for-profit school handed out 6 basic certificate awards in 2020-2021.
