George Washington University is a large private not-for-profit school located in Washington, District of Columbia that handed out 54 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 80% were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online graduate classes at GWU. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 37% took at least some of their classes online.
Out of the 7 schools in District of Columbia that were part of this year’s ranking, Howard University landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in Washington, District of Columbia, the fairly large private not-for-profit school handed out 8 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.

The excellent doctor’s degree programs at Catholic University of America helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular teaching schools in District of Columbia. Catholic University of America is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school located in Washington, District of Columbia that handed out 2 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 100% were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online graduate classes at CUA. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 98% took at least some of their classes online.

A rank of #5 on this year’s list means University of the District of Columbia is a great place for teaching students working on their doctor’s degree.
One thing to take note of is that University of the District of Columbia does offer online graduate classes in some areas. In 2019-2020 about 31% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
