This report analyzed 24 schools in New York to see which ones were the most popular doctor's degree programs for teaching students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Teachers College at Columbia University the most popular school in New York for teaching students working on their doctor’s degree. Teachers College at Columbia University is a small private not-for-profit school located in New York, New York that handed out 113 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 72% of those degree recipients were women.
Online graduate courses are available at Teachers College, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. In fact, around 98% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
Out of the 24 schools in New York that were part of this year’s ranking, St John’s University - New York landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in Queens, New York, the fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 104 diplomas to qualifed doctor’s degree students in 2020-2021.

A rank of #5 on this year’s list means Russell Sage College is a great place for teaching students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in Troy, New York, the small private not-for-profit school handed out 35 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
